Bishop T. Tyrone Tyson DMin

Bishop T. Tyrone Tyson was born on July 18, 1967 to the late T.E. and Elaine Tyson in Winston-Salem, NC. He is eternally married to Dr. LaTanya Tyson and has 5 children and 7 grandchildren. He attended the Public School System and graduated from Parkland High School and continued his education at Forsyth Technical Community College, and Carolina Christian College where he received a BA in Ministry (Magna Cum Laude) and a Masters in Religious Education. He was honored with a fellowship at Princeton Theological Seminary in the Leadership and Black Theology Institute. He received his Doctor of Ministry degree at Payne Theology Seminary.His focus was Transformational Preaching

Bishop Tyson is a successful business owner, a member of the chamber of commerce, the Minister's Conference of Winston-Salem, the Baptist Ministers Conference, and the High Point Educational Missionary Baptist Association. On February 10, 2018 he was elevated and concecrated to the Office of Bishop of Christian Education for The ACTS Fellowship International. He is currently the Dean of Students, Director of Recruitment, and is the Professor of Homiletics at his alma mater. Bishop Tyson accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age and received the call to preach and delivered his initial sermon, 'When the Word Became Flesh' at New Jerusalem Baptist Church on April 11, 1999. On Nov 5, 2002 he accepted the call to Pastor Freedom Baptist Church of Winston-Salem and was installed on Dec. 15, 2002.

On May 22, 2015 by the leading of the Holy Spirit, Bishop Tyson and 26 core members, organized and established Agape Baptist Fellowship Church. The inaugural service was held on May 31, 2015 at Carolina Christian College 4149 Indiana Ave Winston-Salem, NC. Since its inception the church continues to grow in leaps and bounds. In early 2019 Biship Tyson was lead by God to plant a sister church in New York. Agape Christian Fellowship Church began formal bible study services in September and will move into thier own facility in early 2020. Rev.Larry Whitten was appointed Campus Pastor in New York while Rev.Vanessa Duncan was appointed executive pastor at the mother church in Winston-Salem.

Using his unique preaching style and unbridled passion, Bishop Tyson inspires the children of God to serve God with excellence, and to 'Keep it real' with themselves. The chant of 'Preach Tyson Preach 'Rumble Young Man Rumble' can be heard by his congregation and is now synonymous with his ministry. Bishop Tyson's style of 'Preaching Hard' has made him a sought after revivalist and conference speaker. He says of himself, 'There is nothing special about me except Jesus' and Jesus is free to everybody, so that means I'm just like everybody else I'm just a sinner saved by grace, to God be the Glory for the things He has done!!'
