Agape Baptist Fellowship exists to live in the L.O.V.E. of God in word, act and deed, primarily through the preaching, teaching and living of God's Holy Word.
Our vision is to make God's L.O.V.E real and relevant by: Loving God's people according to John15:12; Operate in God's love by the giving of talent, time, and treasure; Vigorously supporting the ministry and mission; Encouraging those around us to seek the Love of God for themselves.
We'd Love for you and your family to worship with us and share in The Agape Experience!
After years of seeking God's direction and guidance Bishop T. Tyrone Tyson received a confirmation from the Lord, that 'Now is the Time' and he set forth to organize what we know today as Agape Baptist Fellowship on May 22, 2015. During this first organizational meeting 28 individuals step forth as charter members of Agape Baptist Fellowship . At this moment the work began and we have yet to stop because as the old familiar song goes, '99 ½ won't do'.
As God continued to grow us tremendously, the church administrative staff was organized. The leadership team was selected and given the mandate as 'Servant Leaders'. The constitution and by-laws was accepted and instituted on May 27th. In preparation for our first worship experience, the praise team was established and the first rehearsal was conducted on May 29th. The first worship experience of Agape Baptist Fellowship was held on May 31,, 2015 in a small classroom on the campus of Carolina Christian College. The attendance was overwhelming and the membership grew to almost sixty within the first week.
A few months later, on August 9th 2015, Yadah dance ministry was organized to usher in the spirit of God in dance by the young girls. There ministry inspired us all as they have ministered to the congregation faithfully.
In preparation of what God's calling upon the church, Rev. Tyson decided on August 16, 2015 to purchase our own pulpit furniture, musical instruments and more sound equipment. On August 29, 2015, Agape Baptist Fellowship signed a lease to its new facility, our current location. As a result of fervent prayer, Agape Baptist Fellowship last worship experience at Carolina Christian College was held on August 30, 2015 and we began Agape Baptist Fellowship 2.0. Eventually, Carolina Christian College will become known as our Educational Campus as God continues to bless our small beginnings.
On Sept 6, 2015 Agape Baptist Fellowship moved to its new location on the campus of Greater Galilee Baptist Church 1355 Peachtree Street. We have seen tremendous growth in numbers, love, and appreciation because we stand firm on the fact that we are a 'Church Where Love is Real'.
God expanded our mission to reach the masses with a second standalone teaching ministry. The 'iLearn' morning express service began on May 1, 2016 and is held weekly at 10am worship via face-to-face, Facebook, or Periscope. This ministry utilizes, Teaching, Technology and Talk to give each participant the best opportunity to say 'iLearn'.
In 2019, God expanded the reach of our ministry and our Agape family increased. After much prayer and planning, Agape Christian Fellowship Church held its first formal meeting in New Jersey. Rev. Larry Whittle, a protoge of Bishp Tyson will serve as campus pastor in this location. ACFC will share in connection, partnership and fellowship under the Agape family of churches.
We don't know what God has in store for us next, but we stand ready to fulfill the foundation of our calling contained in John 15:12,"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you."
"And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding"- Jeremiah 3:15...
